so my mother in law offered to pay for her Easter pictures..well she also payed for her christmas pictures..she offers so i dont turn down.

well she said that she was buying all her outfits for the pictures that kyleigh is getting done, well is it a bitch move to tell her that i want to pick out her outfits?
like when it comes to my daughter she tries to control ALOT of aspects...im just thinking that its my daughter and i want her dressed in what i want her dressed in, ya know?

My MIL is the same way and is always offering to get my LO's pictures done. Luckily even though she does want a say in the outfits, she's been flexible about us shopping together for them or making sure we both agree. She is paying after all so her opinion does matter. But it's not the only one that matters.

I have the sameeeeeee issues. Just stand your ground and if she revokes the offer, oh well

If you were paying for the pictures, I'd say you could definitely say what you wanted your daughter to wear. But, since MIL is paying for them, and buying the outfits, I think she does have some right to say what she wants to see her granddaughter in.

i have PLENTY of dress for DD...but MIL!!! wants to do her own theme. i guess. i just get soooooo AGGRAVATED when she wants to control everything!

Maybe you let her pick out 1 special outfit and you pick the rest. I think that is fair since she is paying.

You can change clothes a few times for the pictures so why not take a few in the outfit she likes and a few in the outfit you like?

she has made it a very strong point that when she does the pictures SHE is providing the outfit..and she wants to get big poofy ass dress for DD and i refuse to have my daughter seen in one of those...

Well if she is paying for them, then let her pick the outfits. If you don't want her to have a say then start paying for them yourself.

I think mothers tend to take over when their child is still living with them & has their own child... I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing, I think it's just natural for them. But I also feel like if you want to do your own thing & don't want your MIL "butting" into your parenting at all, you need to just move out.
