catfish served for lunch at my sons school

Id really like to know why they would serve catfish of all kinds of fish to young children (k4) it's extremely high in mercury, it's greasy and honestly i think it's disgusting. and i know for a fact my son refuses to eat it he hates fish i tried giving him pirch and he spit it out.i guess I'm going to have to ask what's being served for lunch from now on so i can send him with a lunch on those days they are serving catfish

He doesnt get a lunch schedule sent home with him?

They haven't sent a hand out of the lunches for each month?

Yum, I love catfish. Not sure why it's being served at school though. Usually they go for flounder or no fish at all.

I don't know how your school works but ours always had at least 2 options and the menu for the week was always in the paper and on the schools website. And I went to a broke ass country school lol.

I thought they had to send the lunch menu home so you can decide if you want to pack a lunch or whatnot?

They don't serve lunches here

You can print off your district's lunch schedule. Should be on your county's public school website. If you don't like what's being served, pack him his lunch. They aren't going to accommodate for one child because you happen to think it's gross. Fish is very healthy, and mercury content is irrelevant unless they are serving it every day.

My kids school stopped sending home the menu to save paper. Catfish though is a really odd choice of fish to serve to children. Also what about children like my son who is allergic to fish and shell fish and other water related edibles (octopus, squid, etc)?
