re: Tips for TV in my toddlers room?

Why? She doesn't need to be watching cartoons that much for you to be sick of them. Kids honestly shouldn't watch more than an hour or so of TV a day anyway. There are other things they can be doing. Leave the TV off. Problem solved.

My husband grew up with a tv in his room. When he moved in we had one in the beginning but I took it out cause there was no intimacy going on because he used the tv to fall asleep.

Yup 100%

It ruins your sex life, kills your sleep, and Husbands and Wives deserve a room that is there own, not to be shared with a TV.

TV in a childs room can ruin test scores, and take away the purpose of their room, to play, I dont know any kid who can 100% pay attention to a task, why distract them with a TV?

my boys have a tv in their room. I don't see the big deal! It does not have cable only a blueray player. They watch 30 mins of a movie with their snack before going to bed. They get a bath put on pjs then they get a small snack and drink sit in their little chairs in there room watch 30 mins of a movie then brush teeth and bed. It has been their routine forever. I don't see a problem with it at all. The only time they watch tv in there room is 30 mins every night. My kids don't watch much tv though, only a show while im making brrakfast and maybe a show mid afternoon if its an inside day, then 30 mins before bed. As long as they are not glued to tv all day, I don't see a problem

My kids do however have a playroom with a tv in there that they can watch. Though they are usually playing with their toys and gadgets than watching it, but it is on, I'd say mainly they keep it on for background noise.

I don't let my kids watch Dora! lol They watch sesame street, sid the science kid, cat in the hat, mickey mouse, and really that is about it. Once in a while we do team umizoomi or the bubble guppies. I DVR them so we can pick and choose when they watch. usually it is when I need to get in the shower or have an important call to make.

Caillou doesn't bother me that much. There has not been and will never be Barney in my house. Thomas does bug me. The narators voice irritates the smurf out of me. I don't have sprout so they watch that at my moms and it is her problem not mine. lol

My daughter has a tv in her room and she is allowed to watch it whenever she wants (not all day of course!) but we have no problem with tv time, it doesn't take over her life and she loves certain shows.
