Fighting sleep. Help!

For the past week my 7 month old has been fighting his sleep. He gets so cranky because he's tired but he fights me when I'm trying to rock him. He arches his back and kicks me with his feet and I'm not sure how strong thy are suppose to be at that age, but holy cow is he strong.

He's teething and I'm sure that has something to do with it but could he be going through a phase as well? Is there anything I can do?

I've read a little on the CIO technique but I'm not sure if he's old enough or if I feel comfortable doing that.

Opinions and advise are appreciated!  

have you tried maybe feeding him before naps or going to sleep at bed time? I know my 5 months would have trouble going to sleep if she didn`t have a full tummy.

I sure have. Like just now, he ate his baby food and had a bottle and he still fought me. During the day for naps that usually doesn't happen. Sometimes he'll eat and decide he wants to sleep right after but sometimes he waits a little before needing a nap.

if he is teething give him advil or tylonal it helps.
also create routine bath story bed time.

if it becomes to much sometimes it does CIO... i did it with my oldest when he was fighting sleep and nothing i did worked.. and it stopped after a while. i lay him down and he would go to sleep.

My dd started that around that time and still does it to this day. The only way I can get her to go to sleep with out a fight is to just let her sit with me and calm down for about 20 minutes then I can rock her to sleep if I try before then its a tantrum the whole time.

I give him Tylenol/ Motrin when he gets really cranky. We have a set routine. Bath time at 7, eats his baby food right after and has his bottle right before bed between 8 and 9.
He just started doing it the last week or so. I may have to try the CIO method. :/

That's basically how it is now. I know he's ready to go but I have to wait until he's almost falling asleep while he plays, but he's fussing the whole time.

He takes short naps throughout the day. I'm lucky if he'll stay down for 30 minutes. Lol

Today I tried to rock my crankiest to sleep and she woke up more, was super cranky... tried playing with her for a while and she was so tired... she still screamed bloody murder when I put her down but there was nothing left I could do! I had to let her cry it out for almost 30 minutes. It's so horrible, but she was unhappy no matter what I did. Eventually she did fall asleep and was happy when she woke up. I don't know if it's a stage or what!! I hate CIO, but I use it once in a while when it's the only thing left for me to do. I don't think it's going to hurt her in the long run. My girls are well adjusted and happy most of the time.

No, he does it during naps as well. The only time I don't have any trouble is when he wakes up in the middle of the night for his bottle. I'm hoping he gets past it soon. I hate hearing him cry though!
