posted 7th Mar
Hi mommas'   (and daddys) Quick question My 8 month old dauughter hasn't said mama or dada yet how old was your little one when they first said it and what are some tips or ways you helped them learn to say it? My sescond question (concern?) is that she still isn't sleeping through the night, anyway i can help her?
Thanks for all the help, and Please keep your hateful and rude comments to yourself! there is no need for them on a place like this   Im a first time mommy

My son just recently started to babble and talk and he is 2
He didn't sleep through the night until 15 months

At 8 months old I wouldn't worry it sounds fairly normal

Does she have hearing problems?

Not all kids are good sleepers, give her a nice warm bottle or something filling that might help her sleep better.

All sounds 100% normal.
DD didn't talk until 18 months.
She also didn't sleep through the night every night until she was 3.

My 18 month old still isn't really talking. My oldest didn't say her first word until she was 14 months.
About the not sleeping through the night, I think that's pretty normal. My oldest didn't start sleeping through the night until she was 3. My youngest (18 months) still wakes up between 3-5 times a night sometimes.

All children sleep differently. DD is 5 months old and sleeps from 10-9. She's like me. She's babbling right now a lot and when she cries, sounds like she says mama. Babies develop differently. Sounds normal for 8 months to me.

I would never expect an 8 month old to talk or sleep through the night

My 4 year old doesn't sleep through the night

lol, she didn't wake up every night. But at least 3 maybe 4 nights a week. Nothing was wrong with her, she just wasn't ready I guess, we had co-slept for 2 years until DH had had enough. We moved to a new house and she got a new room and from day one went to bed without a fight and sleeps all night. We let her decorate it all however she liked and she would lay there as I was putting her to bed and say over and over "My room mama, my room".

DS is 14 months and still hasn't really said mama or dada. I guess you could say it a lot to have her pick up on it. But that still won't guarantee when she will start to say it.

I think it is pretty normal for her to not be sleeping through the night yet. You can try to sleep train her if you really want, but I wouldn't push that until after a year or later

Slept through the night since birth. Said mama, Dada at 5-6 months. But now at 16 months she still only says like 7 words.

My baby is almost 10 months, she babbled dada since 6 months or maybe earlier but she still doesn't say it like she knows who dada is. At 9.5 months she started calling me mama. She sleeps 2-3 hours at a time during the night.

DS is 10 months. He babbles dada but has no clue what it means. He doesn't sleep through the night either, wakes between 3-6 times at least.
