Random Thought Of The Day.

So I was watching Full House & the twin boys were walking around calling their mom & dad by their names, Jessie & Becky. It made me think of the first time I realized my parents names weren't actually mom & dad. I was like 7 or 8 years old when I figured that out! Idk what took me so long. But I couldn't have been any younger because I still remember where we lived at the time & I remember the conversation vividly.

Anyways, how old were your kids when they figured out your real name? Did they ever try calling you by your first name? How did you react? I think I would be pretty sad if my baby called me by my first name instead of mommy, lol.

Like 2. I just said I'm mommy to you.

My 4 year old has called me Laura a few times because SO of course saying my name. He hasn't in a while though and when he does he corrects himself and says Mommy.

My DD was like 2 or 3. She has never called me by my name, just mommy. Once in awhile she'll call her dad by his name but very rarely. Most the time it's when she's around her cousins. They'll say "Uncle Josh" and she'll call him Josh then. It's kind of funny.

Ahh, see my parents always called eachother mom & dad around us when we were little. Idk why, lol. Even now, they're divorced & when my mom is telling me a story she always says "One time dad & I were," So that is more likely why it took me so long to realize they actually had names. Lol.

We got in trouble if we called our parents by their names.

Hm.. I started teaching him that we all have more than one name (like I'm katie and mama) when he was almost three. He kinda gets it, but he never calls me or anyone were around anything but mama, baba, pop pop etc.

I called my dad by his names once, but we were joking around. I was like Larry Joe go to your room, that is uncalled for! He acts like more of a brother than a dad, he farted on me. That's why I said it, lol.

Lmfao my parents weren't really around much when I was little, but I still was forced to call then mom and dad.

Ya it's whatever though I think I knew my parents names at like 5-6 or maybe younger, but around that because I spent a lot of my time at my dads parents house.
