I never gave him jarred food. I started him on homemade food at like 4 months, then I did baby led weaning.

So what I gather from the little bit of googling I did on baby led weaning is you give them little pieces of table food and let them learn how to eat that?

Yep that is how we did it. Start with softer easy to mush foods like some banana or avacado. Then work your way up when you think he's ready.

Yup chunk it up. Lightly steam hard foods so they can grab them but are able to chew them easily. You can also cut like sticks or chips. Sometimes that helps them grab them easier.
