Baby food?

Ok I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of people so first off I dnt want drama or arguments this is purely a simple question out of curiosity.
My son is going to be 4 months today. He was EBF until about 2 weeks ago when I introduced formula for when we're out in town or whatever. Now last night my husband grilled some awesome steaks. My son kept looking at them like I want some of that. He's started teething so just outta curiosity I put a little BBQ sauce on my finger and let him taste it and followed with a Itsy bitsy taste of mashed tatos. He loved it! I have no intentions of starting him on baby food for at least another 1.5-2 months but I also believe letting them try things like that won't hurt.
So I was just curious as to when you ladies started your baby's on baby food? I know every kid is different and what not but just curious.

Tried at 5 and a half months (her doctor said to try a couple times before her 6 month appointment). She wasn't interested at all.
She actually started eating them at 8 or 9 months.

I started mine at 4 months. She started showing lots of interest in my food. So I talked with her ped and he told me if she is showing that much i terest give it a try, so I gave her a jar of stage 1 sweet potatoes and she loved it. From then on she's been doing great. She now eats lots of table foods that we eat. I just don't put much seasoning in hers yet, she 8 months old now btw.

We kind of went with our guts and DD's cues... She started showing interest in our food when she was 4 months, pretending to chew and stuff... She was my first infant so I was planning on waiting until 6 months, but SO has raised two other kids and was a little more confident and would give her little pieces of stuff. So I did as much reading as I could and found the safest foods I could to mush up and let her try. She loves trying pretty much everything we're eating, you just need to use common sense and a little bit of research and figure out what's best for your baby.

My DD is 5 months and I give her baby food once in a while but she doesn't really like. She makes a weird face every time I give it to her.
