You are only allowed a certain number of bio children in your state? Or does it interfere with the room you have in your home?

You are only allowed to have 6 children. No matter how big your home is. We were approved for sibling sets. So we had 2. We could foster if we only fostered 1 child. but there isn't that big of a need for single child homes

I have never heard of that before, I know that isn't the case here (CT) or in UT. Yeah out here the need is for newborns, children with medical needs, sibling groups and 13-18 year olds. So anywhere from 5-13 singles are on a major wait list.

I wish that was the case in our county here in Missouri.

Did you have a home inspection? What kinds of things did they look for? We have a pretty new build, so not many issues with it. Probably just things like outlet safety things and such

I dont know about other states. But here you dont have to be married to be one anymore!! so you might want to check into it!

Yeah you have two before you are licensed and then one every two years. They look for safety, super baby proofed, and you can't have blinds with cords at all. They look for chipped painted, and that it is clean and well taken care of. You have to have lots of exits, an emergency plan in place, and smoke detectors in every room, as well as fire extinguishers on every floor.

They license your house in the process, that way if you need babysitters they can come to your house and watch the foster kids.
