More scared this time around

posted 7th Mar
Anyone else more scared this time around to give birth.. That when you were with your first?! I keep dreading it! Maybe cuz my last pregnancy didn't go nowhere what I expected.. (which they usually dont) But my son came 8 weeks early.. I had to go 2 hours away and stay in the hosptial, I didn't know any of the docs, I had to be put on horrible magnesium for 2 days, & I couldnt get the epidural when I wanted! It also didn't help I was worried for my son. My mission is 36+ weeks with this one & im so hoping I can make it. I want to my doctor that I seen throughout all my pregnancy last time & this time to be there.. Its a comfort thing and I want to be able to decide okay thats too much pain!

I would die! lol I had my daughter all natural, my labor was about 11 & a half hours & I pushed for 12 minutes. Luckily my water broke on my own & then I headed to the hospital. I think the worst part was when I had to be put on pitocen because I stopped dilating! That made everything hurt so much worse. lol I thought about getting an epi this time but I afraid of needles, plus my sister in law got one when she was in labor & it only numbed half of her body!

yeah I heard of that.. Im so for epidural cuz im a pansy! I give you props doing it natural! & Trust me that needle aint nothing lol Especially when ur in excruitaing pain.. it was the first time in 5 days I got to relax.. It started wearing off at 10 and I did feel him come out.. But I got through 6-10cm numb! Which was nice cuz at 5.. I was in a diff world.. The world of pain lol

I understand your fear although I am working on my 5th all 4 before her were delivered vaginally but I had so many complications with my last pregnancy and this one doesn't seem to be getting any easier. The first three children were a breeze for delivery... but I am scared of complications. I have placenta previa this time around and if it doesn't shift I will have to undergo C-section and while there are PLENTY of woman who deliver that way every day I am totally freaked by it... good luck! I hope everything works out and your precious baby stays in not just till 36 weeks but till at least 40! =)

I am scared smurfless with this one because with my first I was walking around the mall and I felt different but it was my due date and he was putting pressure on me but later that night I called the ob and they told me to come in and I was in labor didn't even know... This one I am scared to go into labor and giving birth cause I don't know how it feels to have contractions and I don't know how it fully feels to feel all that pain but he's a totally different one... I have to deliver down at CHOP and I am scared that he will come early and he will be here in like 5mins flat he's already head down and very low and I am only 24wks.. So I feel you momma... Just breath

Oh wow girl! I hope this one is a breeze. My first wouldnt have been so bad if I was in my comfort zone but there was so much to take in. I was so scared! I only pushed 23 min with him which I heard is great for a first time mom. I hope this one dont take too long to push either! UGH I have always been terrified of labor ever since I found out thats what we do lol I did feel like super woman after I gave birth to him though   & Yes most def! I would love to make it past 36 weeks.. Its just my milestone! & the week I kept hearing when I was in labor..

I understand the need to make it to 36 weeks... With my 11 month old I ruptured a portion of my placenta at 30 weeks... was hospitalized given steroid shots and then strict bed rest and made it to 36 weeks before I was laboring and he went into distress and we had to get the ball rolling with Pitocin and breaking my water because his heart rate was very irregular. Your first experience for active labor and pushing is VERY good. I also had fast deliveries when it was time to push because all of my children were small. My biggest was 6lb 12oz 21 1/2 inches long and my smallest was 5lbs 6oz 17 1/4 inches long. Anyway... delivering at 36 weeks he still needed to be kept in the warmer for 24 hours because he wasn't keeping his body temp up... So 36 weeks is a very good milestone to have! Lots of luck sent your way!!

Yeah all I felt was pressure in my back but that's it and I had that through my whole pregnancy so I couldn't feel anything and that was before the epi... And my husband told me they were off the charts before the epi and I couldn't feel anything... I would talk to the doc and get advice to tell them what you experienced with your first one...

Oh wow! Im glad you made it to 36 weeks with him!   & thanks hoping this pushing is even faster! My son was pretty big.. he was a few ounce away from 5lbs 8 weeks early. They told me if I would carried him to term he couldve been 8-10lbs! My dad was 11lbs.. So it runs in the family!
