did any of you get sick while pregnant

My doctor has completely dismissed my being sick. Wont even see me. My ob just told me to go to the hospital if I feel its bad enough. I went tp the hospital they told me to see my doctor. No one is helping me & I'm at my wits end. I can't sleep cause I can't stop coughing. & everytime I cough I get braxton hicks. My nose is either stuffed so bad I can't bresthe or running so bad its raw. My throat is completely raw. I've tried tea with lemon & honey. Warm salt water. Is there anything I can take that would be safe? I seriously can't keep going like this. I just wanna cry cause it feels like I'm never gonna be better.   any remedies? Anything?

A doctor can't do anything for a common cold.
Take a sudafed (the little red one, not sudafed d or whatever) and ride it out.

Yes.

Im sorry, with taht kind of illness there isnt much you can do until it passes. My kids have a similar sickness right now and are miserable. Ive been given them refresh tazt tea which is a minty gren tea with some honey in it and it helps them alot. You can also make your own cough tonic which is rqw honey, lemon juice and a garlic clove crushed open in the mix. Good luck, try hot stemy showers and those nose strips to help breath. Hugs

I am sick with that too and there isn't anything they can do. They won't see you because they don't want you getting everyone else in the waiting room sick. They told me to call back if my baby (got really sick with my last one) failed kick counts because he was moving SO much less... He never failed them and I got better... Good luck op.

I know there wasn't much I could do but I was atleast expecting the doctor to tell me what I could take. Thabks for the advice. & see I would think its cause they didn't want me to get anyone sick but yet they still want me to come to my appt tomorrow for my regular visit. Idk I wasn't expectinf them to do much of anything but I was expecting them to tell me what I could take. I'm gonna try the sudafed & keep my fingers crossed it gives me some relief

I took some benadryl last night and I still ended up staying awake lol. This cough is awful. I sound like a 60 year old chain smoker

I have that right now and was told Robbitussin and sudafed were the only things you can take until it passes. I also have been drinking tea. They said to go to my regular Dr if it gets worse. My daughter caught it to.

Try a humidifier too maybe? That's smurffy but pregnant or not a doctor won't do anything for a cold. Hope you're feeling better soon!

That really sucks but not much they can do. You can take sudafed, but it has to be the kind you show your ID for. The one over the counter my doc told me I shouldnt take only the one you have to show your ID for. I guess they ahve different meds in them. You can take benadryl and Ty. Good luck and in time it will get better

Yep. I'm sick right now. They can't do anything for you. Luckily I am on the tail end of mine because as soon as it started I began popping meds. Take Robatussin(sp?), Mucinex, tylenol, and cough drops. That's what I did and it lasted 3 days and now all I have is this annoying cough left.
