get married

My SO was wanting to get married in the court house so we could start TTC. He doesnt wanna wait to plan a wedding and neither do i but i want a real wedding ceremony and reception. We both really want to have another baby before our son is 3 he will be 2 in may. So if we wait to plan a wedding we will have to wait until june next year bcuz thats the month we want to get married. Meaning our son would be 3 and then 4 when we had the next baby. He says well have the wedding after we get married so either id be pregnant or have a new baby. Idk seems pretty unlikely to me. what do you think?

Why can't you get married in June of this year?

My sister and her husband eloped 11 years ago planning to eventually have a ceremony with family and friends but still haven't. I wouldn't do it that way. Nothing against getting married in the court house, but if you want to have a ceremony then just do that to begin with.

Why does it matter if you already have one kid out of wedlock? Would just wait and plan the wedding you want, court house ones suck.

This. Also I dont know what being married has to do with starting TTC. If you want to have a baby then have a baby.

Why not get married this June? That's long enough still to plan a wedding... or.. TTC whenever you want, you already have 1 child & you two are obviously committed to being together.

SO doesnt feel like 3 months is enough time to plan a wedding. I feel like we could do it but he doesn think we would be able to rent the tents chairs and tables with such late notice. And for me my best friend is having her wedding in september and Im a bridesmaid so I feel like Id be "steeling the show" If I tried to squeeze my wedding in before hers idk

No, that's silly. And if she's a real friend she would be happy for you.

The only challenge would be finding a location, but it's definitely doable. And it's early in the month still, so if you count all of the month of June you really have 4 months  

i know we already have one out of wedlock but we dont want to have anymore until were married. mostly bcuz our family would kill us but also bcuz we know if we add more kids to the mix we probably wont ever get married

i know but i would understand if she thought i was trying to beat her to the alter. her wedding dates been planned for months.

i think im gonna try to look into it though and see if we could pull it off
