I had both paragard and mirena. Mirena was awful completely hated it. I loved paragard until I had it taken out and found out it was embedded in my uterus. It hurt really bad to have taken out.

Lol it was actually the opposite for me, everyone kept saying how many problems they had with everything, the mirena was actually the only one that got the most positive outcome. This is actually the first time I've ever tried BC and I used to have heavy periods and beyond horrible cramps, but now its completely the opposite and I love it
