Skin infection or irritation? Help :(

I have been to my Dr twice and have been keeping in contact via emails for the past month with no success.

About a month ago I cut myself in my panty line area (left side in between vagina and thigh) with my fingernail. I immediately cleaned the area with antibacterial soap, shaved around it and covered it with a neosporin bandaid. It healed fine, all was well.

A few weeks later a pink bump formed and I assumed it was a boil or cyst (I have an issue with reoccurring boils). A few days later it got purple. The lump went down but the skin remained purple (about the size of a thumb imprint). For the next few weeks it turned light pink and back to purple.There is no head and it is not filled up with any liquid. I called my Doctor and she said it looked like folliculitis. Had me come in and she said it did not look like folliculitis but a yeast infection since it was red and sometimes itchy. Gave me antifungal/steroid cream. I started using that and all hell broke loose. The area spread more, two little white pus bumps formed and the area started to burn. I emailed my doctor again and showed her pictures and told her what was going on. No response yet.

I am concerned what this could be. An allergic reaction to the cream? An infection? This purple spot is not going away at all and I am getting very nervous.


I have never had a fever, it's not hot to the touch nor deep red. Just pink or purple.

It seems my Dr is not concerned at all.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
