How much milk?

posted 6th Mar
How much milk does your 5 month old drink a day?

Dexter is FF. he has 7oz every 3 or 4 hours, 4 or 5 times a day.
So that's roughly 28 to 35oz of milk a day. is that enough? or too much? lol
just wondering really, for no reason, just curious about how much other 5 month olds drink.

That sounds about the right amount. I believe as long as its more than 28 ounces a day, you are good.

My 7 month old eats 5-6 ounces every 2, rarely 3 hours.

That sounds about right to me. If I remember correctly, DD's pedi told me she should have been getting close to 32oz (give or take a little) everyday around that age.

awesome. thank you ladies. Glad to hear he is on track.
I just started wondering about it because yesterday he had a very rare sleepy day when he slept nearly all day and only had just about 20oz.
He's fine today though, back to his powernapping hungry self. lol.

Sounds about right my son is 5 1/2 months old eats ceral and 4 oz for breakfast 1/2 jar of veggies for lunch and dinner and 4 oz and inbetween he eats 6-8 oz every 3 hrs or so. Pedi had us start "soilds" early because he was eating like 8oz almost every hr he was not getting full. So far today he has ate around 16oz plus is usual ceral and veggie. Sometimes he will eat a whole jar of food and 6 oz lol dependint on how hungery he is.

Really thats weird. Most dr will still say to stay away from food, it stretches the tummy out making them to want to eat more often. At that age.

Mine drinks between 34-40oz a day. Someone told me that the Dr.s don't want them going over 32 but I don't know where that information came from. I put him on solids and he is eating three jars of food plus two servings of cereal and still 30+oz of formula a day. I feel like he is eating too much but he is a healthy weight and goes crazy if I try to make him go longer in-between meals.
