Am I being stupid here? The swing I really like, there is 2 different types. The Whitney option which is entirely battery operated... or the Jacqueline option which can be battery operated or plug in. The Jacqueline is like $50 more then the Whitney. Which one would you get?



I personally think it would be more efficient to go with the jacqueline even though it costs a little more...

Get the plug in one. Swings go through batteries SO so so quickly.

And you'd have spent that $50 in batteries quickly. I believe you'll save money going with the battery/plug in swing.

this is exactly what I'm trying to explain to the baby's dad... but he has a penis... so he just doesn't understand... -.-

We used our swing so dang much I'd have died without the plug. Then when we'd constantly lose power the batteries would kick in without skipping a beat. Saved. Our. Butts.

We were given a battery operated swing. We ended up purchasing a plug in one too. DD hates the plug in swing! We've spent far more than $50 on batteries (dd sleeps in her swing for the time being). Get the plug in!

Definitely going with the plug in. Stupid SO... He just said I have no common sense because I'm choosing the plug in one -.-

Don't spend a lot on a swing, your child shouldn't be in there a lot anyway & they only use them for a few months. I got a battery operated one & as long as you don't buy cheap batteries it works perfectly.
My friend bought the same one as me (except the girl pattern) and complained that she was constantly having to re-supply it with batteries but she also had her daughter in it 24/7. I was always recommending her give her daughter more tummy time instead of always putting her in the swing. My son crawled, stood up, & walked months before his girlie friend.
So not only would I recommend you don't spend an extra 50$ on a swing when in 3 months it will sit in the corner & collect dust but I also recommend you limit swing time too, there's no reason for all this high tech stuff when it's a luxury that shouldn't be used constantly.
Same your $50 dollars & buy your child an interactive book or stimulating toy.

A) who made you the say how much a kid is in a swing? My kid would ONLY sleep in his until he was well past 5 months. If you came in my home and chastized me about how often my kid was in his swing I'd have thrown you out. And B) he used his until he was 9 months old. I'll be damned if I'm paying for batteries for almost a year for something used a good 12+ hours a day. And C) that's really sm**rfing ignorant and arrogant of you to claim your son did all that before her child because her baby was in a swing.

Glad u said it!   My daughter had acid reflux rly bad as a baby amd the swing was the only way any of us got sleep.. so we used it. However, my daughter still sat up before the average kid by herself.. and was running around before a yr. So for someone to say using a swing is bad. .. yea.

Well I'm not in your house am I?   calm down though, no reason to be all sensitive. I didn't tell anyone how often to put their child in a swing, I recommended it. & Babygaga forums are for posting opinions is it not? If you don't like it go complain in the debate and discuss forum. But since you feel the need to criticize everything I said....
Maybe your kid would have slept without a swing if you parented more, if you didn't stick them in a swing 24/7 while they were a newborn. Children form habits based on what are engaged in. So who's fault is that that your child didn't sleep without a swing & was in it till 9 months old? Your's & only yours.
Shouldn't your child be starting to walk at 9 months old?

You guys really implied stuff that I didn't even say...
I never said using a swing was bad I just recommended that is isn't over used. My son had a swing...I never said that they are the devil & no one should use them cause you're child won't walk till later.
Gosh you guys have issues....
It this day and age kids are developing slower and slower it's proven, look it up. & I think we as parents are relying too much on things like swings and bouncy chairs to soothe and entertain our babies. So many parents just stick their child in a swing instead of doing tummy time , which should be done everyday to help our children develop and gain strength. I am recommending the OP doesn't go all out on a swing when it's very probable that her child when use it that often unless she makes it a point to stick him or her in there a lot.
