GD Update!

Well im now just 1 day off 36 wks! I had my routine GD Checl up at the OB clinic yesterday and well to say overwelmed is a understatement!
1st i had a scan to check lil mans size and amnio fluid. Hes still measuring over 2 wks bigger and has a big tummy! I have been told this is very much normal for GD Babies.But what overwhelmed me was, when i walkied into my OBs office she was sitiing there and there was, no jokes, 6 other ppl in the room! Well my mum who was with me went into panic mode, and me being me was just thinking, geez this is gonna be a long one and im starving   lol
Turns out it was just the Diabetes specialist, Dietican, Midwife, OB and a few students!
I have been told due to my LO size i will not be allowed to go past my due date and i have been pescribed Metformin (or something along those lines). I have to go back in 2 weeks and if then drugs havent helped, i will be induced ... Looks like my baby boy is gonna be a biggy xx

Have you not been controlling your diet since you found out you had GD??

Yes i have been controlling my Diet! But they still tink its a little high after my evening meal! Doesnt help working shift work, this means my meals are not regular  

Also, i dont know if this is anything to do with GD, But i have only gained just under 20lbs so far. With my Daughter i had gained just over 28lbs by 35 wks :/

I've gained 50lbs so far lol be grateful

If you're controlling your diet like you should the metformin should help wonders. I had GD and they gave me the metformin right off. DS was full term and only weighed 7lbs 3oz.

How big was ur son measuring during ur pregnancy? I really hope this drug works! I really dont want my lil man having any health worries. Its good to hear you lil one came out fine   xxx

I believe he measured around 6lbs when I was 36 weeks. But he measured "normal" my whole pregnancy. You really shouldn't worry about those measurements though...they can be off by like 2 lbs either way.

I asked how much do they think he weighed, and the U/S Person said the scan machine didnt give that info as its a diff scanner then my 20 wk which could give that info! Today was my 1st day taking the pill, I am usually around 8.2 after i eat dinner and today i was 7.4, so it seems to be working   xx
