My boobs.
posted 5th Mar
My son refuses to latch on so I've been pumping (using a manual pump) and I've also been using formula. I pump milk maybe once a day but for some reason my boobs still hurt. The pain is so HORRIBLE! It seems like my left breast hurts a lot more. Is there anything I can do to help relieve the pain?
TIA ladies.

Get him to breastfeed and that'll help. You should take some breastfeeding classes they'll help you and your son

Warm shower and massage.
Try squeezing out a little milk and rubbing it on his lips and see if that gets him to latch easier.
Sadly unless he nurses youre going to be in pain until your milk dries up..

Keep working on the latch. Pump more than once a day if you wanna keep breastfeeding. At the rate your going, you will dry up if he's not latching period & only pumping once. Your probably super engorged

You could try pumping more often. Depending on how old your LO is you should pump every 2-4 hours. That should help with the pain. Warm showers/compress. If you are wanting to stop BFing you can try hand expressing a little to relieve the pain and pressure.
