Anybody else ever get it while pregnant? What caused it? How did they treat you? Did it effect your baby? I was just hospitalized with it.

Oh yeah. My heart rate doubles from time to time. I feel like I'm going to faint. The docs don't seem concerned, though. How high was your rate? Did they say anything about SVT?

I had it when I was 23 weeks and I was hospitalized with that and bronchitis. It didn't affect DD. They told me that the bronchitis caused it. I stayed for 3 days.

I was told to lay down rest, keep hydrated and wait for it to be over. I had multiple episodes of it with my last pregnancy, the worst one lasted a while but I called L&D and they gave me the choice of coming in. They didn't seem too worried. I don't know what caused it, they were random episodes varying in length but usually 20-30 minutes. All 3 babies are fine.

Its actually common in pregnancy because of the increase in blood volume.

I had mild problems with my first and major ptoblems with my second. Now I am being tested for two different heart conditions because Bo is 2 now and I still have them at least once or twice a day.

I can usually get my heart rate to come back down pretty easily. It usually only goes up to about 140 or 160 and then comes back dpwn to normal.

Once it went up to 208 and I could only get it down to 165 for like 2 hoirs. It would spike back up to the 200's. It was awful and I almost ended up in the hospital but I finally got it under control.

I have SVT. Wasn't diagnosed with it til after my LO birth. My heart rate goes up to the 200s only once I haven't gotten it too go down and was admitted and they gave me meds to stop/ slow down my heart very painful meds. I am ttc and asked my doctor about how it would affect next baby n he said to drink more and just wAtch it. And during labor be and stay on oxygen. Shouldn't hurt the baby though.

What does SVT stand for? It was at 135. I almost fainted in the store several times now and have had to sit down in line or the isle. They said my potassium was low and kept me until it went up because it was causing contractions. They said that's what caused it but I still get dizzy. It is a bit better now. But if I even do dishes or vacuum I pay for it in dizziness and weakness.

Supraventricular tachycardia, but your heart rate didn't get that high. Mine was 130 the other day. That's very high for me. I hate the way it makes me feel. Yeah, a potassium imbalance can really screw with the heart rhythm. Hope you start feeling better soon!

Yeah, Adenosine sucks. Did you flatline when they gave you the meds?

Seriously? I'm fainting at 135! I wonder why my body reacts to such a low heart rate??? Maybe it's because I'm pretty thin and have already had previous heart problems?

I don't remember it hardly. My BP was up and they gave me meds to calm me down bc I was freakin out I couldn't breath. I just know when they put it in my IV it hurt so bad I could feel it going hru my body.   I try everything before I go to the ER now to avoid that medicine lol. It's scary.

It was probably Adenosine. It has to be given rapidly via IV. We have to warn patients ahead of time that it will make them feel like hell and they may flatline. Hope you don't need it again!

Sounds like it I know they all I remember is a after being wheeled in to our cardiac unit the nurse with me hooked me up and screamed "SVT, get a doctor!" That's pretty much all I remember and her telling my hubs it would hurt and make me feel like death. Which she was correct. Lol
