Ultrasound! What?!

posted 5th Mar
So, I had my gender scan today! @ 17 weeks, 5 days.. Well I noticed during the ultrasound that the screen said 18 weeks, 2 days.. So I asked why it said that and she said that it's only a 3 day difference.. I am very confused now.. Does this mean my due date is still the same? Help lol.

Yeah your due date is still the same
Sometimes baby starts taking after mom or dad characteristics like long legs so they measure ahead

Yes your dd would still be the same. They don't typically change it unless there is a very large difference, like 2 weeks or more. Mine was 4 days ahead when I went.

That's what your baby is measuring at, not what your due date is.

It is common for them to measure ahead a few days to a week or so closer to your due date. You still should go by your original due date.

Yes. Its just that the baby is measuring different. My son measured off from his due date during every ultrasound. He never measured right on except for the dating scan.

My baby was measuring 5+ days ahead at my u/s at 21w and they didn't change my EDD. I'm measuring 1-2 weeks ahead fundal height as well but all those things just could mean a bigger baby or weird position.

Unless baby was measuring 2+ weeks ahead, your OB likely won't change your EDD. Its just an estimate anyway
