SAM-e

Has anyone tried this for arthritis pain? I have osteoarthritis in both knees and my right foot from having too many injuries/surgeries. I have been on Vioxx, Celebrex, and various other anti-inflammatories since I was 16 and I'm worried about what they're doing to my body. After my last foot surgery, I discovered that every time I took Aleve, my lower back started to hurt, so I decided to quit taking everything, but the pain and lack of motion is starting to affect my daily life. So, I'm trying to find something natural that won't harm major organs.

I don't have an answer but I wanted to say *hugs* I know how horrible chronic pain can be. I hope you find something that helps soon!

Thank you! I've gotten pretty good at working through it with exercise and Aleve, but I have had to be non-weight bearing on my right foot since the beginning of December. The lack of movement plus the walking lopsided has really set it off. My doctor wanted to send me to a pain management specialist, but the last thing I want is to get addicted to something.

My neighbor swears by Lakota Joint Care. He has knee problems and such, and he said the difference was night and day when he started taking it. I know glucosamine with chondroitin can be very helpful as well, and omega 3's are good for joints. I don't know about SAM-e. But I would try it in your position for sure. Anti-inflammatories are so horrible for you. Make sure you check the drug interactions/contraindications, as there are a few.
