31 weeks less movement in Ultrasound

posted 5th Mar
Hi so I requested my doc to order an ultrasound for me (no problems , any) but since i am feeling less movement. so I had an US today heartbeat was good, baby weighing 4.2 lbs. But tech says baby is less active compared to other kids...does this sound like there might be a problem? I haven't had any problems regarding baby since the start of my pregnancy but just lil worried. My ob gyn wants me to go for non stress test twice a week cuz i told her no movement at all,

(I have GD so I switched to low card diet , sinc ethen baby movement decreased quiet a lot)but Surprisingly, Whenever I eat rice or any rice based stuff baby movement is like almost thru out the day.

So what's your question? Some babies just aren't as active -- especially once they start running out of room later in pregnancy. They did an ultrasound and everything is fine, there's nothing to worry about.

as long as baby is meeting kick counts there isnt anything to worry about.

any movement counts towards kick counts. Babies rotate and change position also.

you should do kick counts daily when baby is usually most active and there should be 10 movements in that hour. My daughter was always most active at night I could go all day with nothing but as soon as like 9pm rolled around she was having a party in there.

Its not 10 movements every hour. Its 1 hour out of 24 that you set aside to count. Pick the hour the baby is usually most active. They have sleep/wake cycles in the womb.

i got it but even in that one hour i don't feel 10 kicks. Sometimes even after having sweet/dessert my baby would not move/kick

My son was never active. I had weekly BPP's and the tech always told me to eat and drink before hand to try to get him moving because he would just lay there the entire time. I would go days without feeling him and never did kick counts because I just didn't feel him. The only way I knew he was okay was because he constantly had hiccups and I felt them.

some babies just arent that active or get in a weird position. If the ultrasound was fine I wouldnt worry.
