autism and blood testing

posted 5th Mar
If you have a child diagnosed with autism did you have a blood test done to determine if it was genetic?

We just had my daughters follow up appointment and they suggested it. But honestly I've had enough of watching my kids get stuck with needless for the rest of my life and if it doesn't benefit her directly I don't think I want it done.

What did/would you do?

(I'm on my phone so it might be a post and run)

They mentioned it in passing at one of my son's appointments, but didn't again and I honestly forgot about it. He's 4 now, 2yrs since our diagnosis so I probably won't have it done since no one else has mentioned it. If you don't feel like it's necessary I wouldn't.

I would not. Especially after everything with your son... it could be too much. Not for her, for you.

I haven't talked to you in ages. How've been?

My four year old was diagnosed with Autism. He's now seeing a neurologist that ordered a bunch of tests, one is genetic testing. He already had the blood drawn. We are seeking answers so I didn't question it.
