ovulation question

it has been three days since my period had ended. we are ttc, and I have been using the ovulation strips. this is my first period since I have been off the b/c pill. my question is how will i know when I am ovulating. this morning when I took the ovulation test it had to lines but the first was really faint.

When the test line is as dark, or darker than the control line is a positive.

oh is there a chance i might not even ovulate the first month after stopping b/c
