healthy snacks/lunches for 11 month old

posted 5th Mar
i'm having trouble coming up with healthy things for DD to eat for lunch/snacks during the day. she usually eats whatever we're eating for dinner. she loves eggs, so she has those a few times a week. yesterday she had hot dogs for the first time. i know it's not healthy, but it's not an every day thing, so. anyway, i need some ideas, please

Once a week or so I make soup. Beef or chicken usually, with a lot of veggies. Then I freeze and it's what she has for lunch. She also likes sandwiches, fruit and pretzels. She LOVES cheese, especially string cheese.

DD likes fruit occasionally. she prefers veggies and pasta and things like that. it makes it a bit more difficult. lol. i will look into those though!

Veggie pasta ( its green orange and yellow. Rotini makes some and DS loves it) with marinara. ( Prego makes veggie smart sauce that contains carrots and sweet potato too. Sometimes I'll also mash up some canned carrots and add to marinara) Sabra roasted red pepper hummus with something to dip into it, or just hummus spread on toasted bread. At that age DS also like chicken salad or pimento cheese on toast. I would mix a pack of water packed tuna with pre made macaroni salad ( from Walmart deli) And of course fruit has always been a go- to snack, when I don't have fresh, I'll get a bag of Dole frozen fruit and just put in into a colander and run warm water over it to thaw it. Quick and easy. They have mixed berries, blueberries, and even diced strawberries that I don't even have to cut up. Oh and banana and peanut butter sandwiches are still a big hit with my son. ( mash banana and mix with PB and spread on toast. I always toasted ds's bread so it wasn't so chewy) When I'm feeling kind if lazy, I have no problem getting DS to eat stouffer's stuffed peppers or rigatoni and chicken, etc. Oh and one more thing I'm glad I got him hooked on were these individually sized cauliflower and cheese things you can find in frozen veggie section. I used to mash them up for DS at that age and he loved it. Raisins are a great munchie, too.
Whew, that was alot.

i have no idea why i didn't think of hummus! lol. all of those are good ideas. i thought you weren't supposed to give peanut butter to infants though? am i wrong? cause if i am, i'll definitely be giving her some. lol.
