Co sleeping
posted 5th Mar
If you co slept with your little ones, do you feel it was a bad habit to form. For instance once they get to be 4,5,6 and 7? Have they still had a hard Time transitioning?

Mine is only three and we still co-sleep. I think it's honestly harder for me to stop than for him.

Why is that? Don't you like sexy time with your man? Lol I have never once co slept with my daughter mainly because she thinks the bed is for crawling all over the place and playing tag!

My son co slept until about 2 and a half, he had no problems transitioning.
Still co sleeping with my now 2.5 year old and I'm pregnant and I'm worried he won't transition well, he's still night breastfeeding :/

Because I'm super paranoid. I like knowing he's RIGHT THERE. And my husband doesn't have sex with me very often so it's not an issue.

there's other times and places to do it, it doesn't just have to bed at night.

This. Sex is boring if you time it like that.

I didnt co sleep but my lb came in with me if he was poorly or teething but i would always sleep awefully even if he was asleep all night. From about 10months he wouldnt sleep of he was in with me. He would wake right up and play around. I much prefer having space and we both sleeps much better in his.cot x

DS is 13 months and we've co-slept since day one, his crib is right next to our bed, but I love co-sleeping with him, it makes me feel like I'm keeping him safe

LO co-slept until a bit past 18 months, maybe 20 months? It was tough for the first two nights but after that we've had no issues. He'll be three in two weeks and still climbs into bed when he's sick or something, but other than that he's totally in his own bed.

I transitioned him when DH deployed. He was 2.5-3 at the time. I still lay with him til he's askeep, then I leave. He crawls into my bed if he wakes up at night and if I'm coherent I take him back and tuck him in.
Our rule is: if the sky has light, he can stay in my bed til we get up.
And as for sex:
We have sex lots of places and at some interesting times of day.
ONE of my pregnancies was conceived on my BED. The rest...counters, floor, couch, shower, etc.

I think there is an age where co sleeping can become an issue, but up until 3, I don't think so.

We started cosleeping at 2 weeks. We switched him to a pack n play in our room at 9 months. We will transition him to his own room when we switch him to a toddler bed, which will be in another month or so. He still gets to be in bed with us for a couple hours in a morning once in a while. He's only 17 months so it's definitely not a problem for us.
