Traveling the U.S. with 10 months old

posted 5th Mar
Hey mommys,

first post and already questions; haven't found a similar topic, so here it goes:

We're going to visit the U.S, with our then 10 months old baby girl in May/June. We've dne that several times but this is oir first time with the baby. So I never really checked the supermarkets with regard to baby food - which would you recommend? I am fully breastfeeding her at the moment, however, I think she might be into baby food until then - just want to be prepared. So which is the best food to buy?

And which is the best hb or fb you can get in the U.S.? I might add another one to my shelf ;)

If you had to buy a stroller, which one would you opt for?

Loads of questions, I know. Thank you so much for your help!

Ah. I find EU is far better for carriers than the US. Maybe it's just the ones I look at, though.

Thanks your for replies; you're absolutely right, home-cooked would be choice no. 1. We're travelling by RV though and the kitchen is rather petite. If there is one after all, it's going to be an old camper. I will definately have to buy some glasses.

Piecey, I want to check the olives&applesauce carrier. Looks good so far. Surely there is loads of crap like BB, chicco... to be found, but that's just the same over here.

my baby likes beechnut and gerber. but by 10 months your baby will be able to eat finger foods. my 11 month old has been eating pretty much anything we eat since she was 9 months, just cut up in bite sizes.

We use Heinz and Gerber brands for baby cereal and foods.

I just use the Baby Bjorn and Ergo carriers.

If you are thinking a fairly basic umbrella stroller... I have had my eye on the Uppababy G-Luxe. It's just under $200 and looks decent for something lightweight and easy to travel with.

Enjoy your travels.
