Placenta Accreta

posted 5th Mar
Google hasn't turned up a lot of useful information, other than that it can be linked to prior c-sections.

I had my anatomy scan today, and they informed me that I have placenta accreta. They are referring me for an MRI and to see Maternal/Fetal Medicine, and I see my OB for more information in a week once everything's been "officially" diagnosed. I hadn't heard of this before, and I haven't turned up a ton of information. I wasn't terribly worried at the doctor's office, but as I've read more and it's all sank in, I'm pretty damn nervous.

Have any of you ladies dealt with a pregnancy with placenta accreta? How did your pregnancy/delivery go?

I haven't dealt with it, but I really hope everything goes well for you!! If they know about it early on they may be able to prepare enough ahead of time to prevent anything serious happening during delivery.

Yeah, we definitely found it early...I'm only 18+5 so I feel I'm really lucky.

they'll schedule a section, and more than likely a hysterectomy. It can be very serious, but much safer since they are aware of it. Just be sure to watch for signs of labor, and not hang around at home if you start having contractions.
