Would you adopt a child with special needs?

I had a brother with special needs so this is a no brainer for me. I would. I would have to make sure I could leave enough money for them to be cared for in my passing though.

Low functioning ASD honestly probably not. I work with kids on the spectrum and I'm mentally exhausted by the time I'm off work.

DS or CP we've talked about fostering.

A severely disabled child, honestly probably not.

If I had the physical and emotional strength, support ,money and the means I would no doubt in my mind adopt a child with special needs. I have seen first hand how hard it can be and I take my hat off to those who care for a special needs child no matter what age they are.

I think for a lot of people it depends on what special needs. Special needs can encompas a lot of different problems as well as the degree of said problem. I would adopt a special needs child depending on what that special need was. If I didn't think it would too drastically take my attention away from my daughter I would or if I couldn't have children and they would be the only child.

Depending on what the particulars of the special needs were. Some, perhaps. Most, no. Severely disabled, absolutely not.

I would adopt a wheel bound child who needed to be fed, changed, and cared for. I know I would not adopt a child with severe anger isues.

I say no because I don't think I would be able to handle it. Maybe if I didn't already have 2 kids and was able to give all my attention to that child I'd consider it.

I would if i wasnt already caring for my own ''specail needs'' children. 2 of my children have ASD/ADHD/& Mood disorder.Life is never dull here !

I do not have the patience.

I am very seriously considering at least fostering when we move into our house. I wanted to see if our plan was as crazy as certain family members have made it out to be. We would adopt if the child was available for adoption. If not than we would just foster.
