I just read that they think they knew who was driving and are looking for that person. Only a matter of time.

The story I heard, she wasn't. I just read another that said she was. That makes no sense. It's policy that nurses can't give CPR?

I thought even CNAs were CPR trained... I would imagine a registered nurse is certified. That's odd.

She wasn't a nurse. Just a senior living director.

You'd think ANYONE working in a place like that would be CPR certified? And able to perform it on an elderly person. Weird.

I still think it was lose/lose for her though. Company policy says no, morals say yes, courts say this, ethics say that. You know?

She admits during the 911 call she's a nurse but that company policy states they can't give CPR.

Who to believe, NBC or CNN...! Lol. I don't know, I just feel like if I felt my calling was to work with seniors and my boss told me I couldn't resuscitate them if they die-- I would think twice about working there. I mean, that's an odd policy.

I agree. I couldn't just stand by and say sorry my boss told me I can't help you.

I'm a teacher and technically, if a student collapses or something, we aren't supposed to touch them. But I had one of mine early in the year collapse, and I held him while one of my other kids ran to the office. I told my boss if it were my kid, I wouldn't want the teacher to just let him lay there alone, and he agreed with me. When he woke up he was so thankful I was there with him because he didn't understand what had happened and was scared.

I honestly think my morals would get the best of me and I'd end up trying my best to save her. Despite the company policy.

But I do feel bad for her.

Yeah our school has the same policy but a middle school student was playing around and starting choking on a one of those sporks and a teacher saved his life. Had they waited for the paramedics he wouldn't have made it.

Just makes me think of my family. If my mom collapsed I'd hope to God someone would do what they could to help her.

And if a teacher just stood by after my daughter collapsed, holy smurf I'd rip her face off.

I hope she didn't get in trouble for it! The Board of Ed. is all sorts of screwed up.

I'm going to hell for laughing, but how does one choke on a spork?

Exactly, I can't imagine a parent would be like "you touched my kid while he was unconscious! You should be fired!" And besides that, I'm pretty sure no child wants to wake up after fainting alone with his teacher staring at him like he's got some sort of disease or something.
