Ick, he's telling you to dry heal?? Is it color?

I'd start using some lotion or aquafor. It'll help sooo much with healing and itching.

See if it was just script, I could understand him being laid back on the aquaphor. But that has shading that's gonna peel in chunks. I just couldn't imagine 'dry healing' my tattoo. How painful, lol. When I would get out of the shower and let it dry before putting aquaphor on it, it was super tight. Like my skin was. After the aquaphor it loosened up. Just keep doing what you're doing with it. If it's getting scaly, start the lotion. But do not pick at it... no matter how much it itches.

I used to use the cocoa butter stick. It looks like a giant chapstick, but it's cocoa butter. I kept it in my purse so that it wouldn't dry out. It's probably just dry.

Again, not true. It's actually better to leave the tattoo uncovered, no Saran wrap or bandaging, so it can breathe and air out, therefore healing faster an you're not trapping bacteria in there with your fresh open wounds.

Artists all do it differently, but the facts are that when the tattoo stays moist, as in keeping it covered or putting too much ointment or lotion on it at a time, your tattoo will look 'soggy' and that will pull the ink out as well.

I don't mean leaving it wrapped for like... days. But I've always been told to leave it on for a few hours so the blood/ink won't run onto clothes/bedding/etc. So it has enough time to clot (so to speak).

Oy. He wants you to dry heal it. I could never. Peeling is AWFUL. Your tattoo is gonna itch so bad and you'll want to scratch it. And, IMO, the flakes fall off faster and bigger that way. Lotion is SUCH a relief for the itching and keeps the flakes moist so they fall off when they're ready to fall off.

I understand the thought behind it, especially keeping all the seepage (gross terminology) getting on your clothes n stuff. But I won't do it anymore. It bugs me now lol.

Lol I think I only kept it on for like 2 hours (with this last one). I had to work shortly after getting tattooed, so I only had time for a nap. So I just napped with it on and then took it off, cleaned it, and put aquaphor on it.

No ink in my bed.... but I do have a greasy looking stain from the damn aquaphor
