baby nursing help?

DS is a month old and is breast fed and occasionally has a formula bottle when he doesnt seem to want to take my breast and screams... lately he will be rooting and i will try to put him on both sides and he screams like he doesnt know ow to do it or what it is and then finally he will latch but will whimper and break the latch and scream ... I know there is milk there and comin out b/c i squeeze to make sure... so i try to burp more to see if it may be that but doesnt help and the screams continue and he still is looking for food... wth? help?!?!

Nipple confusion maybe?

My advice is to take away the formula and bottles altogether. Nursing is essentially harder for baby to do. They have to work to get the milk, whereas they have instant satisfaction with the bottle. When they have the bottle enough, they'll get lazy and want the instant satisfaction that the bottle brings over the breast.

thats what i was thinkin bc he will use me as a pacifier when full

I would completely take the bottle away. Continue to let him use you as a pacifier. Maybe pump a little before feeding him so that you will have a letdown quicker.
