sex while on bed rest

Ive been put on bed rest for the remainder on my pregnancy because I have a blood clot in my leg. Is it alright to have sex?

I would say no. You should rest, not participate in a vigorous activity.

I would think not especially since bed rest is to refrain from physical strain in general. Call your dr & ask though. I was on bed rest for placenta previa so maybe yours is different.

No. Bed rest usually means you are on pelvic rest, too.

Your doctor shouldve specified..that means no sex.

Activity can dislog the clot and cause harm. I'd say no. However it won't hurt to ask

Ive been telling my DH no, but he says "you're not on pelvic rest" -_- i think he needs to invest in a blow up doll

This. If you are on bed rest you are definitely not allowed to have sex either.

You should ask your doctor for sure. I have had blood clots in both of my legs and never even put on bed rest once I am on blood thinner. I have had small superficial clots and many large clots all the way from my ankle up my thigh. I have a clotting disorder and my FVL and pregnancy causes me to clot badly.

My dr put me on bedrest but said that sex was fine. So I guess it really depends on your situation. I would discuss it with your dr.

Bed rest is supposed to keep you from strenuous activity and stress, such as sexual intercourse.

Well there are different reasons for doctors putting you on bedrest. I trust someone with a degree in medicine more so than the opinion of one who doesn't have any knowledge about that person's specific medical situation.
