When my grandfather passed, my grandma said a lot of his favorite things in a space bag and stored it in her closet. The rest of his clothes she donated to the VA because he was passionate about homeless vets. I think the quilt is a good idea

I am sooo very sorry for your loss. When my father died, my mom kept most of his stuff, and gave other family member's things of his that kept his memory alive to them. Also my mom gave my sister & I things of his to hold on to. I think that some of his left over clothes she donated as well. The quilt idea is an awesome idea as well.

I wanted to say, to you, I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. My heart has been broken ever since I found out about this.

I love the quilt idea. That is wonderful. I am so sorry Ashley. I wouldn't start for a while until you are ready. It may take a while. Take some time and hold on to everything he had until it is possible for you and Hank to let go of some of it. Donating it to a children's hospital was another wonderful idea. Maybe pass little sentimental items to really close relatives so they have something to hold onto as well. I am praying for you always. He was such a beautiful boy.

My condolences to you and your family. as others have said, just try and take your time. a quilt is a great idea, also maybe ask others if there is something they would like to remember him with like aunts uncles or your parents ect. This must be like a living hell for you. i cant even begin to imagine

Bring them into the battered womens shelter. You can also take them to the women and children shelter. It is on First Ave.

Honestly though, I think if I were you, I would hold on to them until you were ready to pack them up and give them away. There is no rush. It is all on your clock.

This may sound weird, but besides sentimental things, keep one of his dirty shirts.

I did with my dad, and still to this day (9 years later) if I'm upset and missing him more than usual, i go smell it and lay with it and it still smells like him.

he had this pair of old dirty, warn out cowboy boots. I'm sure they were too small but he insisted on wearing them all the time. They were muddy and probably smelled like cow smurf from being out at the barn. We displayed them at the funeral and they went with him.

As soon as I finish the one I started last year for Anthony's big boy bed. Lol I have project ADHD. Lol I start them and don't finish.
