child custody please dont quote

The other day I wrote a post about filing for custody. On friday I went to the court house that I got married in thinking they could give me the forms for divorce and the kids but they couldnt do either after waiting almost 2 hours. They told me I had to go to the big Court house in downtown and they would give them to me. It was time for me to pick up my oldest from school and I didnt want DH to know what was going on so I didnt really want to bring them to him and they would not act appropiate for the court house ( This place is huge, next to a big jail and the buisniest(sp?) Area I know of in our county, parking would be far the kids would get cold and the wait I could only imagine after waiting 2 hours at the mariage one )   so I went home and decided to talk to the lawyer sunday and go today. WELLLLL She told me where to go to get the forms onine and said I could print them and take them in. I have to go to work later but I printed the forms. The only problem is his signature is needed on everything!!! He will not sign anything granting me the children not even if its split. What can I do I jsut called the lawyer but shes not answering   I'm afraid now

if he wont sign u will have to go to court u will need a lawyer as well i suggest finding one u can do payments with

I would suggest finding a lawyer that takes payments and that will file the papers FOR you. It seems that you will have to have a lawyer anyways.

Thats what I was afraid of. The lawyer who is helping me is n immigration lawyer but knows all about this stuff due to all her cases and the fact that she worked at a womans shelter and helped those woman out like 7 years ago.
He will not be able to afford a lawyer unless I totally kcik him out. Which then I wouldnt be able to afford a lawyer paying allt he bills by myself and taking crae of the kids fully like I do now. He does nothingfor them not even buy them food I do everything. They are my everything and I dont want them to go without over this   What do I do

well i would apply for help once u kick him out if u get it then hopefully it would be enough to let u have money to pay for one if not, id find somewhere cheaper to live if u could.

Well I filed for divorce and he never responded after being served. So my case was declared a "True Default" case and I'm pretty sure this means I will be winning full physical and legal custody of our daughter.
Not sure how your state works or if your husband would respond to being served, but you can try contacting a legal aid place near you. They sometimes have free or low-income help you can use.
