For those of you that pray....

If someone asks you to pray for them, do you pass judgement on the reason?
For example if someone say, just wants to find out the gender of their baby or have a sucessful home renovation, do you still pray for them?
Or do you assess the validity of their request and not pray for them if you deem it to be an unworthy reason?

I would pray for their success. Nothing wrong with that. But I was always taught when I was younger to not pray for things like that..more so pray for my well being and be thankful for what we have.

If I think the reason is questionable, I just pray that His will be done for them. But I don't turn down the chance to pray for somebody.

I do. I don't pray for specifics like they ask though. I just pray that God helps steer them to the best path for them, whatever that be.

Well, it depends. I know I prayed like crazy wanting to know the gender of my baby, hoping he wasn't as stubborn as me. So I think if someone were to ask me that I probably would, like *B & D Mommy* said, pray for their success. If it's something stupid like, "Pray for me Bri, I am going to walmart. Pray they have chicken & waffle chips." (My friend said that, lol) I am obviously not going to actually pray. I do however always pray a lot more often since I had my son. Especially for people here, who request prayers & positive thoughts in regaurd to their children. I know I would want people to do it for me if something happened to my child.

Why not? I was taught that you can (and should!) ask God for anything, it doesn't matter how insignificant it seems. Unless it's something sinful, like "Pray my drug dealer has the good heroine" or something like that, lol.
