I just read that. It's not worth reading. The guy is terribly biased and very angry.

I was leaning towards the links about what happened with the drug testing welfare applicants....but okay.

I don't have to read it and I can say what happened. 90% of the applicants passed the drug tests. Most applicants who knew they would be drug tested did not even go for the test. But......90% of the applicants passed, meaning...90% of those applying for welfare are not petty, scumbag drug addicts.

It just makes me giggle when people on government assistance want to talk about others on government assistance. You're all on the same boat. No one welfare user is better or deserves it more than the next.

I'm confused but what does people spending money on cigs lotto and weed have to do with poor people? Like, do you know these people are actually poor?
And honestly, I think it's their smurfing choice. If that's how they want to spend their money, fine. It's one thing if children are being neglected so parents can be selfish but if you want to drive a smurf car and wear clothes from the thrift shop so you can smoke and gamble who am I to say smurf? To each their own..

Apparently...She knows they are poor. Because she knows 90% of the people who dress/act a certain way are poor. She knows this because she has encountered people that dressed/acted this way..and they are poor....so she places everyone in the same broad generalization.

She also believes that there are two types of food stamp users. The first is a "good" user who is working and trying to get off food stamps(which...she is the good food stamp user). The second kind are lazy, scum, drug users.

.....Your opinion means nothing to her. She began this post to make herself feel better about her life and her government assistance..At least that is what I've gathered.

I think there might be some nit picking going on,
I think we all know she didnt mean it as you are all making out.
It was just a topic and I doubt she was trying to offend anyone.
I really dont think she was being immature, petty or judgemental.

I pay all my bills and rent and buy everything that is needed and spend all my spare cash on weed but now we have to stop because im getting a car and going on holiday and can't afford things haha.
I think I would be far better off if I didnt spend my money on weed which is why im stopping buying it now =]

Good for you. I hope you get you finances in order and have lots of extra money to do good things with. Spending it on weed cant be good.

I make close to 100 grand a year, but David goes to school full time and doesn't work, so we have months where things are tight when we make dumb decisions. We try to always have money in savings but sometimes do a lot of extras. We buy weed now, and bought it when we made 30 grand a year. That isnt going to change. We just budget for it, that's all.

My boyfriend has a real problem with weed. If he has none he's a right arse so I end up buying it (im the main bread winner lol) just so he's happy.
I've told him no now and that we have to be tight with money =]
I really hope he manages to quit. His sisters boyfriend got him to smoke weed when we was 11 and he's never stopped. he's 25 now =[

and yeah I thought that! People say you can't get addicted to pot but I live with proof that you can. last night we shared one joint and that was it and he was just so ratty and even sweaty and felt sick and just everything. I still think it's partly in his head but I'm not sure.

I used to work at a grocery store and saw the same thing all the time.. people coming in buying cases of beer, a couple packs of cigarettes, some blunt wraps, lotto tickets, and paying for their groceries with food stamps. I thought it was completely ridiculous, but you never know what happened to get them in that situation. I just feel like if you're relying on the government to buy your groceries and pay your bills, you shouldn't be using what little cash you have to get drunk/high and gamble.
