day care help in tx

I'm new here trying to get some info for my niece. She is currently 12 weeks pregnant. She dated bd for about a month. When she found out she was pg, the guy changed his # and email. When she applies for TANF, will she be able to get it if she don't know how to locate him? I'm trying my best to get info on childcare. I know here in tarrant county they have ccms. When I called they just said she could not be put on the waiting list until the baby comes. Does any one know how long it takes? She makes 10.50 per hour, so I didn't know if she could find a place that would work on a sliding scale.

The daycare assistance program is based on annual income. It is correct that they will not put her on the waiting list until she delivers and it takes about 6-8 weeks to get through the process. My suggestion is as soon as your niece delivers and receives the baby's ss# to file for assistance so that when the baby is old enough to go to daycare the process is close to completion.
