My question is when is the best age to start potty training and any tips for a boy?

I have read that when a boy can run around a corner sharply (not a wide turn) their muscles down there are more developed for potty training. Also if they sleep through the night without being wet in the morning. Also, PLEASEDO NOT use pull ups. They have been proven to make it hard to train. Put the little man in undie and let him feel the wetness. Believe me, he won't like it. More mess for you, but that is part of being a mommy. Good luck!

Yup yup, best to be prepared. Some kids train earlier then others. Also, like the other poster said, it is good to have a man show him. Or another older boy. They need to "see" how everything works.

With my son Eli we had to do the naked thing. Put a long shirt on him, and let him run around naked. Like someone else said, it gets messy, but we tried everything else, and that's the only thing that worked!

I potty trained my lil boy @ 3 ... I tried when he was 2 , but he was a wreck . But my son would pee in the toliet but he wouldnt go number 2 ... so for two weeks I would go home & make him get on the potty and sit until he used it . And if he didnt use it I would give him dinner and put him to bed .And one day he got of tired of fighting it & he used it ... It was the best day ever .

I know some parents reward their kids with gifts , some people try the hoop thing in the toliet . I tried all those things & finally I tried tough love .. it worked .

Well tell him to get over it. There is nothing unnatural about it. It needs to be done for his child. The period talk would be uncomfortable too if you have a daughter but it needs to be done, and you would have to do that one. If anything do you have a friend with a 5 or 6 year old that would pee in front of him?

A few times he peed, but it wasn't everywhere. He knew he didn't have anything to catch it, and he better make it to his potty! LOL Also, we had to ask or tell him to go like every 10 mins. Time consuming, yes, but better than a 3 yr old's poopy diapers!
