Quoting beandis:" A little confused...so your grandmother makes diagnoses based on proper grammar usage?"
no, my aunt is actually mentally disabled. i never knew, the only thing i noticed growing up is that she has some grammar issues.
I found out this last year after reconnecting with that side of the family. I was shocked at first but it made a lot of things add up, and now when i talk to her i can really tell she is a lot more simple minded than i ever would have guessed. she used to have an IQ in the 50s but now its in the low 70s gramma was saying. she has exceeded their original expectations a lot.
But my to hear this about my other gramma is just so different, like...idk. I was so close to her all my life. i dont know whether the gramma i was talking to knows what she is talking about but i dont really have a reason to think she doesnt, kwim? i wasnt exactly clued in a lot of the time. I mean, gramma in question didnt get a lot of things, i always thought she was just a tad senile and loosing some of her eyesight and hearing so missed a lot.
its just kinda a shock to you when someone you have known all along and never thought anything was wrong with is all of a sudden labled like that. idk...
