DD only has it at daycare during naptime, other than that it is only at home and when we are going to be gone for an overnight. Unless she is sick of course, then I just don't draw attention to the fact that she has it.

No she is not dependent on it at all.
She functions normally at school and out and about without it. But when it comes time to rub her eyes is when she wants it.

We are currently working on her sleeping in her own bed too and not sneaking in with us, taking away her "nana" would not help that any.

No, but DH stays home wit him during the week. I see your point.

Meh, I don't see the big deal then. Could you imagine how damaging that would be to just cut it up or even take it away right now?

I've never had a particular comfort item, but I can't sleep without a blanket. It could be 80 degrees in my house and I still need one, it makes me feel secure. So if my husband told me to sleep without one and he hid all of the blankets in the house he'd get a big F you, lol.

I agree to never destroy their comfort item. I would probably be devastated if someone destroyed my Lion King blanket.
