Opening gifts
posted 3rd Mar
We're having my son's 10 birthday party today and its a 2 hour party at an indoor pool. The last two parties he has gone to the kids opened their gifts at home after the party.. We've never done it that way, but I'm wondering if that's the norm?
This is our 5th year doing it at the pool and honestly it's always been a little but of a hassle doing it during, so would it be weird to wait?
My kids usually enjoy watching the birthday boy or girl opens the gift from them.. So I'm torn..

i woudl do it at home, doing it there sounds like a hassel. have him make thank you cards though so the givers feel appreciated and stuff

Thats pretty odd. Every party I have been to, or thrown, always had the person open presents during the party.

I like this new trend of doing it later.
Everyone likes to see the person open thier gifts, but sitting waiting for ALL the presents sucks. Especially when you could be swimming

Maybe you can let the parents know you'll be doin gifts at home and invite then to bring the kids, then have snacks or something
