c-section bleeding question
posted 3rd Mar
So I had my c-section 2/28 and have had minimal bleeding and only 2 very small clots. I was fine till today. I have been in so much pain that 2 norcos and an 800mg motrin isnt touching the pain. Also my BP has been high today (144/92) and I had a low grade fever (99.4).
What could be wrong? I am going to talk to my dr when he comes tomorrow but I want some opinions and maybe some similar stories.

Maybe infection. Does your incision feel hot?

I had a uti with those symptoms, couldn't even get out of bed, it was terrible

Also 99.4 isn't a low grade fever. It is pretty normal.

****never mind I misread this

Infection maybe?
Your BP is concerning.
Call your OB to see if he or she would like you to come in to be checked out.
Best of luck.

I got a mystery fever after my c section, didnt have an infection + my bp was lower than normal so they didnt know what it was. I did have an epidural reaction which is what led to the emergency section in the first place so they put it down to that. I was still in the hospital when I got it though so they treated it. I know mamas above have asked but is your incision red, weeping or feel really hot? Does it hurt to pee? I had awful bladder + bowel spasms for a couple of weeks after my section, could this be what you're feeling? My doc told me the pain I was feeling was normal it takes time for your bowels + bladder to work again after abdominal surgery. Not sure about the bleeding question coz I know everyone is different but I bled heavily for 2 weeks, medium for another 2 or so then it tapered off to light + finally just discharge. Nearly 9 weeks altogether + then my first period started I'd definitely ask your doc about everything when you see him just to be sure.

Nope incision looks just fine. And no signs of a uti.
I am still in the hospital so I see my dr sometime today and will tall to him today.

I had my c section on the 28th as well, I am not having similar problems but I hope all is okay for you! Ive been on Motrin and loratab and it's keeping my pain down, I've been home since yesterday and getting around just getting up and down is hard for me right now. Good luck to you!

I've never had norco... Not sure what it is either. But the loratab is heaven sent to me! The Motrin alone doesn't do a thing but the loratab is working great. I feel somewhat normal after taking it. Can you request a different pain med? While I was in the hospital they were giving me toradol in my iv then Motrin and loratab once my iv came out.
Is this your first c section?
I've been home since yesterday and the loratab works so well I am getting around more and up and down the stairs than I probably should be, but I know walking is what will make you heal faster.
My baby is doing great, she was very small she is 5lbs 13oz and 18in so while I was at the hospital she was getting her sugars tested every 6 hours and they needed to be above 50 she's been doing great in the 60s and even the 90s the day we went home, shes small but tough she doing great I am just constently worried about her so I'm stressing a bit and exhausted! Worrying about feelings, if she's comfortable ect. I need to relax! How is yor LO doing?

This is my second c section. I had dilaudid in my pain pump and motrin then norco when they took the iv out.
I know what you mean! Ds was a month early and he is still in nicu but just got taken off oxygen and the warmer and is getting his iv out tonight! I go home tomorrow unless they have a room for me to stay in till he comes home which is hopefully soon!
