bleeding:how much is too much?

I'm one month PP and started bleeding really bad yesterday. Today it hot worse. While I was in the shower earlier I looked down and the tub was red and my legs were too. Then (sorry tmi) I heard a big splat and looked down and there was a huge blood clot. I'm talking like the size of a baseball. And I just woke up with the baby and I was soaked with blood cuz the pad couldn't absorb it all. Kinda worried because its a lot but I don't really feel bad, I'm just colder than usual and have no energy but I haven't had energy for a while lol anyone else had this problem???

You need to call your ob asap. That is way too much blood

Go to the ER now. Clots larger than a golf ball and soaking through a pad in an hour or just gushing blood is way to much.

You need to call your OB and head to an ER. Bleeding that heavy, especially a month after, is too much. And the blood clot is very worrysome. Being cold and tired are signs that you are losing too much blood.

Also, go look in the mirror. Press your thumb onto your upper cheek (where the cheekbone is) for a few seconds and pull away. Do you see a "thumprint" there, where there is no blood? It may look pale, dark in color... anything but red or pink? If so, that is a quick test to show you are anemic. If you do the thumbprint test then you know you are really anemic... go to the ER.

I could have died when I was so severely anemic from blood loss, I lost blood clots the size of my hand... I let it go on for weeks. I ruined so much clothes. I soaked through two pads staked WITH a super tampon in an hour. I was smurfing SICK and was so scared of going to the doctor. Had I gone to the doctor I could have maybe avoiced the hospital, but I ended up needing surgery. It took almost a year to recover from being that anemic. Don't be dumb like me... go to the ER. Especially if you do the thumb test and it shows you are anemic.

Eh I've had clots that big with a normal period and I was told those can be normal.

But if a clot is a size that is abnormal for you.... it indicates some kind of change. Like for me, a 50cent piece is normal. Meh. I always had a lot of clots and TMI a lot of long, stringy clots. But when I suddenly had fist sized clots? Yeah that indicated a change and had to go in. I no longer bleed because of my hormones but if I were to suddenly bleed... it'd be a change I'd have to be worried about even if it was a dime sized clot, ya know?
