Crunchy parents

Out if curiosity, why "crunchy"? Lol. What does it mean/referr to??

I always thought it was because granola is crunchy and they're usually "hippies." I have no idea if this is true.

Oh no, it's one I haven't heard yet. I get so tired of all this slang I have to keep up with. I can't even imagine what crunchy parent could mean lol

Crunchy, as in nuts. Because, nuts are crunchy.   All jokes aside, it refers to being natural.

This is always what I associate it with, too... But it seems like such an obscure thing lol....

Like, I know people who call themselves "crunchy" parents are usually attachment/natural style parents, I just don't know why it's "crunchy"... If that makes sense lol. The granola thing makes sense I guess, though. Haha

I tried to make a trail mix joke when I was responding.. Like I do some crunchy things but not a lot so I guess I'm a raisin? Lol it's bed time for me

except for the vegetarian organic food part i am kind of a crunchy mom lol i didnt realize it. (I would possibly do organic if i could afford it though)

It is derived from the term "granola" being used to describe natural minded folks.
