birth control

So, I know basically everyone on here is pregnant or trying tc. But, I have a few questions & I figured I would get some accurate results from this website.
I've been taking the birth control called "Lo Loestrin Fe" for a couple months now. I take my pill at 8 pm every night. I'm really bad at taking my pill on time. I either had to take it a few hours late, or two the following day. Its been this way since I started taking it because I forget to take the pack with me when I leave. Me & this guy started dating and we wanted to have sex. Being the dumb kids that we are, we didn't use protection .He was a virgin, & I wasnt. Of course, sex didn't last too long & he came inside me. Not completely, but for the most part. We had sex on the 18th of February and I get my period on the 2nd of every month. Today is the second & I haven't gotten it yet. Nothing feels different besides me sleeping more and pissing more. also, I'm very moody. Any advice? Please help!

Wait a week...if it still isn't here, then take a test.

if you're late you can test today and if it comes up negative but you still don't get your period you can test in a week..that's what it usually says on the package of the test anyways.

Its not too soon to spend 20 dollars on one test?

Not trying to be a downer but.. That's the birth control I got pregnant on and I didn't miss. I hope that you aren't pregnant (unless that's what you want). My pregnancy symptoms sound like what you are going through right now. Give it some time and if no period in 7 days then test. My test came back positive when I was exactly one week late. Good luck!

You can get first response tests at Walmart for like $6 or go her a dollar store test. And it shouldn't be too soon. But remember feb is a short month. So if it says negative just wait a few more days, if AF doesn't show then test again.


ETA: first response tests can detect up to 5 days before you're missed AF so today is fine.

Did you take your pill everyday at the same time?

I would also like to add that during the end of January and most of February I had a bad cold and took a lot of different kinds of cold medicines so I'm not sure if that would lower the effectiveness of birth control.

Yes I took mine at 9 pm cause that's when I would start getting ready for bed.

So, theres like no chance that you got pregnant because you forgot to.take it?

No my ex didn't want kids so he helped me with remembering to take it. But it is what it is. Not every birth control is 100% effective. I was on it almost 5 months when I got pregnant.

ike someone stated already. Feb is three days shorter than most months, so if your periods are a certain amount of days apart then your still about 3 days away from your period this month. Also being worried can make it late (stress). Im not sure about the bc your on i have never heard of it. I would wait until at least the 5th and if your late then buy a test. If your impatient then youll have to buy a box...but they arent $20 for one..at least no where here. I get a box of two for maybe $16. Family dollar (if you have one there) has a box of two or three name brand for $10. Good luck and i hope it turns out how you want

I got pregnant with my first by forgetting to take a pill and taking 2 the next day. If you don't take it everyday around the same time you could get easily get pregnant. But I also got pregnant on the patch and it was taken properly. Seems like you don't care if you get pregnant. And I tested the same day I was supposed to get pregnant with a dollar store test and an IC and it was positive!
