colposcopy?

Has anyone had an abnormal pap smear and needed a colposcopy? What happened? What was abnormal?

I had one. Thought I had cancer turned out it was nothing I just looked as it wasbjust another pap. No big deal itbwas a 1 2 3 thing

I had 2 colposcopies a few years back. I had abnormal cells for 2 years, CIN 1 I think they called it. They just monitored it + the cells eventually cleared up on their own. They took regular smears as well + eventually I was all clear. I didn't need treatment but a couple of my friends had the bad cells removed, by burning/lasering I think. Both were done under local anaesthetic + both friends are fine now.

I had one once, I cramped like crazy after it. Everything ended up being fine though luckily.  

I got a letter in the mail last night and I've been freaking out since then..

Was what abnormal?? I had it done, it cleared everything up and I haven't had another abnormal one since!
