my plan was no plan. Good thing too because things happen that you have no control over. If I had made a plan, and couldn't stick to it I would have flipped. But going in with an open mind/no plan was great because I made choices as options were given to me, and I ended with an emergency c setcion which I know wouldn't have been in "the plan." lol

ETA: So basically, I'm suggesting you go in with an open mind. Re-do it if you want, but don't stress if it doesn't go as planned.

I thought about doing that because honestly I have no idea what I want to do really. I wanna go all natural but I know with pitocin that's probably not going to happen lol and I don't wanna get there and have to change my mind over and over. I'll probably just have a small one in case I change my mind and wanna use it, but more than likely I'll go with the flow.

You haven't even given her a full week to make it to 41 weeks...it's safe to go to 42 weeks if nothing is wrong......

She isn't moving as much as the doctor (or I) would like, half the time she stays still, she's smaller and I am not progressing like I should. Read my other topic "Monday is the day" It explains better why I'm getting induced.

good luck with your plan going through as you'd like if you are delivering at a hospital. make sure you go in open to anything. there are a few things that i stick to my guns about (no medication (pitocin/pain relief) but otherwise i go with the flow.

no problem! and do remember they can't force you to do anything although they make it seem like they can.

If I could redo anything it would be to HAVE a birth plan- then I could have educated myself on all of the different interventions that are and are not necessary and what my options were! Instead I went along with every thing that ultimately led to my unnecessary, nonemergent csection   I was induced. 2 out of 3 inductions lead to a surgical birth!

Yeah things may not go as planned but I think its important to know what you want from your labor/birth experience!

Oh I know. Thankfully my doctor is behind me on almost everything, he thinks I'm crazy for not getting an epidural while on pitocin, but he said he won't push anything I don't want unless it's medically necessary. I'm hoping he means that lol

2 out of 3? Really? I have not heard that, I really hope that I don't have to do that. But if I'm like my mom and grandma, they couldn't labor even with pitocin, their bodies just wouldn't do it, then I might :/

Having a plan has absolutely nothing to do with being educated. You can educate yourself without making a plan.

Yes! By surgical it means csection, forceps, or vacuum assisted deliveries. Some women just don't have the oxytocin receptors which are needed to progress labor whether its with Pitocin or natural oxytocin! I hope you don't have to have a csection though, good luck with everything! Think positive

I didn't get an epi until i had been on pitocin for almost 8 hours and my water broke on it's own. That was the one thing in my "plan" that i wasn't going to budge on. I wanted my water to break naturally. I know that sounds weird but not having the epi allowed me to progress until my water broke and a little bit after until i couldn't take it. I did end up having to have a c-section because they found that my LO's left foot was hung in my ribs. He has a cute little crooked toe to show for it! Good luck mama!
