Custody stuff..

Do I have to know where DS's dad is to file for custody?

He's homeless and without a phone again and I haven't talked to him in close to a month so I can't give an address or anything for him.

Actually wondering about this myself! My babys father is in jail. So technically I dont even know if I can file for custoday.. Good luck though!

I'm pretty sure that they have to serve him with papers for the court date

You can have him served with papers if he's in jail

No you don't need to know. Just say you have no clue. They can contact his family and friends to find him. I've even seen them put notices in the paper in hopes of finding them around here.

They will do 2 weeks in the notices part of the paper that there is a court date and when and what time it is if you do not know where he is. Once that court date arrives if he isn't there then the judge will grant you anything you want
