A little but of sunshine

After this not so great week. I filed a complaint because my sons aug comm device was denied based on not enough information, information that should have been provided AND the woman wrote the nicest, point by point appeal letter for me. Expaining every point of the denial and why he needs this. And now I have everything I need to officially start the appeal process so he has a voice! 3.5 with 10 spoken words and 7 understandable signs... I'm ready to have more to express and communicate together!
AND the woman we saw today for a feeding eval, kept saying how I'm an amazing mom and just sweet things. I know I'm a good mom, but everything I explained to her and she observed, she said I'm doing a phenomenal job with him and it's rare she sees a mom so in tune with their kids and although he does have an eating disorder, I'm doing everything she would do, and sees it as I'm doing a fine job. During the eval we were eating snacks and hot meal food- the OT/PT said a few times omg your mom makes the most amazing food she should open a restaurant. She ate all the leftovers. That made me giggle lol
Overall we had a really good day and I enjoyed spending a couple hours on the boat with DS just him and I spending time together and eating a little candy, watching birds and boats.
And, one last little story, on the way over to Seattle, the boat completely stopped just shortly before docking (10-15 min out) and then started reversing. A couple minutes go by and then we hear over the speaker- there's been a report there might be a person in the water, we need to go investigate. So reverse for 5 minutes, the engines stop. It was a large log of wood.
